I have to admit I’ve lost interest in PyOrbit by now. Maybe it’s mostly a lost interest in CORBA really. Well, I’m keeping this page here in case someone finds it useful. I won’t spend time on keeping these documents up to date, but I’ll be happy to incorporate any changes that are sent to me.

Unfortunately it seems the available examples are very few in PyOrbit. It also doesn’t help that PyORBit deviates slightly from the standard CORBA language binding for Python. However, to get started I’ve read through most of ORBit Beginners Documentation (v. 1.6) and thought that translating the examples found therein from C to Python might serve as a good first step towards my goal. I have published the results (incomplete) here (texinfo and source for the examples).
